Canadian working holiday visas:
The Canadian government issues a fixed set of working visas each year starting in January. They are issued on a nice and simple first come, first served basis. This year 7500 visas are available (click here to see how many are left)
The basic critera to be eligible are:
You must be an Australian pasport holder aged between 18-30 at time of application.
You cannot participate in the programme more than once.
You satisfy a range of medical and criminal history requirements.
You have proof of access to a minimum of $4000 of funds on arrival in Canada.
Essentially its a three part process. You answer an online admissibility test and if successful you are e-mailed the application form to print off and complete. The High Commision will take about 4-6 weeks to finalise this and will then e-mail a letter of introduction which you present to Canadian immigration upon arrival. You do not need to have arranged a job beforehand.
