Namibia’s capital and largest city is Windhoek. The international airport is Hosea Kutako International Airport which is located 45 minutes east of Windhoek and is serviced by Air Namibia via London and Frankfurt and South African Airways via Johannesburg.
The currency is either the Namibian Dollar which at present converts 1 Australian Dollar to 5.74 Namibian Dollars or the South African Rand converted at 1 Australian Dollar to 10 Rand.
Major Tourist Attractions - Kalahari Desert, Fish River Canyon (2nd largest canyon in the world), Namib Desert sand dunes, Etosha National Park.
Like South Africa (which ran the country as a client state for years), Nambibia has a wonderful tourist infra-structure and a diversity of activities. Check out its German historical past in towns like Swakopmund.
