The capital city of the United Republic of Tanzania is Dodoma (officially moved from Dar Es Saalam). However, Dar Es Saalam still remains the largest city and is the International gateway when flying into Dar Es Saalam International Airport in the Eastern African country.
The major airlines connecting from Australia through to Tanzania are Emirates via Dubai, Qantas/Kenyan Airways and South African Airways, both via Jo'burg .
The currency required for Tanzania is Tanzanian Shillings which currently converts 1 Australian Dollar to 1,001 Tanzanian Shillings. The US$ is widely accepted especially in the tourist industry

When traveling to Tanzania on an Australian passport you are required to obtain a visa on arrival for a fee of USD$50.00. (Or before entering the country - This can be processed at the Honorary consulate of Tanzania in Melbourne and costs AUD$95.00 for a 30 Day Tourist Visa, USD$50.00 for a 30 Day Single Entry Visa and USD$100.00 for a Multiple Entry Visa).
