Certainly travel agents (of which Australia has no shortage!) will become less noticeable in the future as they move out of shopping centres and high streets and become smaller and more specialist. But the good ones will survive because unless your trip is very, very simple (like Sydney to London return on set dates) a good travel agent can usually add value to your trip by identifying all the extra stopovers & flights that your RTW or multi-stop ticket may be eligible for.
